Pok Oi Roundabout is a crucial intersection for connecting districts in the northwest New Territories. It experiences heavy traffic during rush hours, resulting in increased travel time.

Roundabout
Problems
The traffic flow entering is uneven. The traffic volume and queuing time of the Yuen Long Highway (southbound) entrances and Yuen Long Highway (northbound) entrances are much higher and longer than that of the entrances of Tsing Shan Highway (eastbound) and Tsing Shan Highway (westbound), which greatly reduces the efficiency.
Solutions
Adding Traffic Light at the junction of Yuen Long Highway and the roundabout, and widening the roundabout from the Au Tau single-lane slip road to the two-lane slip road. The average delay can be reduced up to 65% based on the simulation results.
